BRAND NEW @ The Avalon
Brand New kind of disappeared. After the release of the well-received Deja Entendu the band hasn't released any new material until recently. And now they are on tour. Coming to the Avalon in Hollywood, Brand New will set souls on fire with searing chords and heartbreaking lyrics. The Avalon is located at 1735 Vine St., in Hollywood. Tickets are available for $17 on Ticketmaster. The show starts at 7 p.m.

SAWDUST ART FESTIVAL @ Sawdust Fairgrounds
Established in the '60s by a handful of Laguna's counterculture artists, the Sawdust Art Festival has come full circle as the premier summer art show in the city. Over the years, the festival has grown into a day-long outing with live music on three stages, roving musical acts and circus-type performers, as well as delicious food and drink. The shaded festival grounds, complete with waterfall, make this yearly artistic trek a part of serene SoCal living. The Sawdust Festival is located at 935 Laguna Canyon Road Laguna Beach 92651.
