Whatever: Cleaning Day and The Vacations at OCMA

Today I will clean my apartment. I have been noticing my sneezing behavior lately and it is getting worst everyday. I have a very sensitive nose and a worst case of allergy. I clean about every 10 days ( living by myself doesn't really cause a messy scene around here). I think my allergy attack that have been happening lately comes from my neighbor's furryyy cat. I like cats but I can totally live without them. So just to inform everybody who cares, I will be cleaning for the rest of the evening and finish watching Wonderfall disk 2 and 3. Don't call me. :D

If you are in the OC this Thursday and have nothing to do on that night, you should get out and go to OCMA. The Vacation is playing at the OC Museum of Modern Art in Newport Beach. The event is from 7 pm to 11 pm and it is free!! After the show you can stick around for DJ Alex Dyer. Visit http://www.ocma.net/ for more information. So now don’t say that I did not inform you…u slackers!

Blogging in the Rain

Loquat goes well with rainy weather and pinot grigio...Nip/Tuck is about to start...I can't believe it's almost Halloween. How does it feel to be married for one year? Not as strange as being on the east coast. The city of Boston feels bigger when you don't know anyone within 3000 miles.

Film and Fashion: Slow Tuesday

Early this morning and I feel like I owe myself a nap at 10 am but because of my duty, I have to put that idea aside.

I am not fond of urban outfitter lately. About a month ago, I found out about their scandal. The article saying that they have been stealing independent artists and designers creative works and never pay them a dime. Damn corporate! I am enrage but I have to admit that this red sweater is pretty cute. Damn!!!

DVD: Hard Candy is out on DVD today. If you don’t know what this movie is about ( and let me assure you that it is nothing about nail polish or make up), let me give you a short recap.

A mature 14-year old girl meets a charming 32-year old photographer on the Internet. Suspecting that he is a pedophile, she goes to his home in an attempt to expose him. (grabbed from Karie bible newsletter). From there it become of the the pedophile's nightmare.

Rants: Monday Blows

Rants

This past week seem like a hectic week for many of us. Poison spinach, nun was mudered by extremists and weather changes all weekend.

Nun who had spent most of her life helping sick people was murdered today by Muslims retalliating for Pope Benedict's remarks about the violent nature of Islam. ( I quickly grabbed from netscape.com)

This new threw me away. Why these cowards keep killing and hurting innocent people who happen to have different faiths and beliefs other than theirs. It even depressed me even more when they destroy lives of good human being over and over and never brought to justice. They need to stop using religion as a mask. It is nothing wrong to be Muslim, Catholic, Christian, Buddist etc..but it is so damn wrong to hide behind the mask and use religion as an accuse to act like a devil and destroy other people lives just because they happen to practice different religion.

Well enough about depress news. I had a good weekend and did several things that push my spirit up a bit. On Friday I watch Wonderfall for the first time and I must say that it is quiet entertaining and I am disppointed that the show is no longer around. If you like sarcastic jokes and talking animal stuffs, you like Wonderfall. The show reminds me a little of Dead Like Me on Showtime but a lot less depressing. Check it out.

Saturday I decided to check out some new places right by my house along with my partners in crime. We went to Que Sera on Saturday night and ended up seeing On Blast performed live. They remind me so much of Postishead, Goldfrapp and Tom from Radiohead. The lead singer has a great voice in a corky way. I have to give him 2 points for having such a haunting voice and split personality. They are having two more shows here in LBC on Sept 24th and 29th. If you like hiphop/electro/pop/rock, you should check them out and maybe show up at their shows.

After the show we headed out to the Red Room but because of the place was overpacked, we did not get in. ( I am sure that there was something to do with coolness...like we are not "cool" and "hipster" enough) We then did not give up and brought our happy faces to the V Room which turned out pretty great. Both of my friends got hit by gay men..Oh la la..I love LBC.

Eat: Bamn! NYC

Since I am heading East in less than 2 months, I have been working on finding places to party, drink, eat, shop and just relax. Bamn! sounds like a place that me and my friends would fit in especially after long night bar hopping and clubbing.

The automat is back, thanks to a group of mostly first-time restaurateurs who recently opened BAMN! on St. Mark’s. Under hot pink and white signs, these new automats dispense inexpensive finger foods like grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs en croute, roast pork buns, and Japanese donuts.” ( I grabbed from Blackbook newsletter)

Did you know

that grad school barely gives you time breath? Let alone posting on your poor neglected little blog...

Lonely Weekend Vs. Fun Weekend

I finally admitted to Daria that I might be having some issues. I admitted to her that I have a slight tendency to go for bad boys. It's something I've always known...the good guys never do it for me. But I think I should follow my heart-- not make decisions based on what others think I should do. Today, I am giving myself a pat on the back.

Mister Monster called -- and since I will be busy from Thursday on, he wants to hang out a little before both of our busy weekends approach. His friend from out of town will be visiting staying with him till early next week. We watched this silly movie last night and ended up talking and just hanging out. He has about 2 weeks before moving in with his friend. I want to encourage him to stay close to where he is at right now, but I don't know how to approach it. Don't want to look needy ...or maybe it is time for me to be a little agressive and forward? We might have dinner tonight...I can't believe it has been almost a month an a half that we have been hanging out...I want to know where is this leading..ask him? ask him not? Daria help!!! :D

Mister Tall decided to call me when I was with Mister monster. I called him back and proceeded to chit chat over some little stuff. He seems like a nice guy and asked me to go see a boxing match on Saturday. Boxing match? What is he thinking? I guess he has no clue, and I can tell he was pretty nervous when he was talking to me on the phone. He told me that my buddy gave him approval to call me, and he has been wanting to meet me since Rosarito (that was like 2 years ago!). He is planning to call me this weekend and see if I would like to hang out with him and his friend
(which happens to be my good friend). I guess I won't be waiting or missing Mister Monster over the weekend...or maybe I will.

Art: Art Junkie

October is right around the corner and Christmas is nearly almost here. I can tell some changes in the weather these days. The Sun doesn't come out early in the morning like Summer and during the night, wind blows against my skin at night. I have to admit that I like Fall and Winter and I can't wait to wear my brand new Anne Kline teal peacoat. I also can't wait to head East to see Daria and spend 2 weeks exploring NYC and Boston with her and Princess.

Now let's get into business shall we?!

MOCA: Check out the exhibition of Eva Hesse drawing at the MOCA until October 23 2006. If you like Postminimalism art, you will enjoy her works at this exhibition.

Rants: News around the world

When my life was going well in all department, this new just shock me to the core and make me realize that Travis B is a little b#*&@. Paris Hilton..why her?!!

A lengthy statement from al Qaeda No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington calls on Muslims to step up their resistance against the United States. Three words for these cowards...Son of a gun!!!

Movie: Something New

If you want a cute romantic movie to see over this weekend, rent Something New. Warning: Simon Baker is a sizzling as one Aussie can get..Forget Russell Crowe.

Mister Monster Recap

I was feeling more hyper than usual on Thrusday night and ended up staying out late with Mister Monster. He got a tipsy. So I decided to drive both of us home, and I actually realized that he might have a drinking problem. We watched some movies and he fell asleep-- then I heard him talk in his sleep. Creepy..yes, cute.. kind of....weird...totally. He finally made the first move and told me that he has been wanting to kiss me for a long time. I felt relieved and happy that he did not think I was too butch. We are supposed to go camping this weekend. He left the next day to go visit his puppy and his friends.
~
Update: Finally Mister Monster came back in town. We were supposed to go camping, but he got lazy and could not book the spot for us. It was his loss.. and I gave him a guilt trip about it because I was a little miffed. Later on I apologized, but he told me he deserved it and would make it up to me.. Yeah... sure.

So the next day after he got back we went biking and checked out the neighborhood car show. Then I cooked and he came over for a dinner and watched the second season of Weeds. Things are getting more comfortable, but I still have my guard up. As of now I dont know if I want to move forward or stay as we are. I guess I'll have to take my friend's advice and have a couple of cocktails. Also he told me he might be moving to a different city which is not that far from where I'm at. The fact that he is moving bothers me.

Weekend Recap: Introduce Mister Tall

I finally had a chance to watch Something New. My buddy Daria rates this movie a 5 stars on her Netflix profile. I was skeptical about the film at first but I ended up having a little smile on my face after the movie. Feel good romantic movie with a happy ending...that is what the girl needs on a Friday night.

I headed out to my buddy's bd party later that night. I just had a couple of sweet cocktails while getting hit in the head several times by his druken friend. One of his friends just started talking to me and finally gave me a hint that he would like me to call him. I will call him mister tall. At the end we swapped phone numbers but I am actually hesitate to call mister tall since I know that he is dating someone. He told me he doesn't have a girlfriend so I asked my buddy to check on the facts. I need the truth before I make the next move. I just got the text from mister tall last night saying he had fun on Friday and he want to hear from me soon....to be continued...

Rants: Whatever

So Wednesday is here and almost over. I have been telling myself that two more days and weekend will be here again. Over the weekend I got naughty and shopped online for myself. It is hard to be a girl.. It is even harder to be a single girl in a city. I skipped VMA because I hate seeing teen poppers ( sound bitter yet I am!) parade in their slim body, nice tan and great outfit.

But I did not miss to OK Go interview and see a performance by MCR. MCR = Queen..MCR rocks though and wow the lead singer has a bleach hair now..I personally think he look hotter with dark hair. Can't wait till their new album. Check out the vdo here. I have to warn about the quality but if you miss their performance, you will be satisfy of what you can view here.

Steve Irwin RIP brotha..

Art: The Cows of Boston

My first trip into the city a few weekends back brought me face to face with a bunch of COWS. They were everywhere! It was weird. So I finally walked up to one and got the scoop-- this summer Boston brought out the CowParade as part of an artistic charity-type project.

Each cow was painted by a different artist and displayed in various places throughout the city. This month they will be auctioned off, and proceeds will go to a charity. Apparently this cow parade has been going on across the U.S. for quite some time... I had no idea. I mentioned it to a friend, and indeed! She quickly sent me a photo of her with a cow in another state.

The cows are fun to take pictures with!

I found this one disturbing. :(

Paul was having way too much fun.
